Pricing Autumn 2026

Information

Hopefully most of you will have seen that I've now been able to return to stringing again after my one year of absence. This was because I had injured my right thumb and so I'm now going to gradually ease myself in with light stringing work such as badminton and squash. Regrettably this means that I will not at present be taking any tennis racquets in for stringing but fortunately it's not tennis season so that probably wouldn't happen anyway. As many of you will know I have tried to keep my prices as low as possible and particularly when it comes to local competition which is really the local sports shops in this area. As I'm sure you know my service is quite in depth. I have many years experience of playing badminton, of stringing racquets (I am UKRSA qualified), I give advice regarding string types, string tensions and of course I'm able to offer services like replacing grips and bumper guards. Hopefully many people will acknowledge that my service is of a high quality and regrettably I will need to increase some of my prices very slightly due to rising costs. The manufacturers of string and grips and other necessary items that I use understandably increase prices continually and therefore I do need to offset some of those rising costs. At present my prices are based on the cost price of materials whether that be string or grips plus my labour fee of £13 for stringing a racquet. Effectively I don't even charge for the fitting of grips or bumper guards as I've always included that as part of the overall service. My intention is to increase the fee for stringing a racquet however if you are purchasing the string from me effectively that will only be a rise from £13 to £14 however if customers wish to supply their own string the labour fee is going to be increased from £13 to £15. Since the vast majority of you request that I string a racquet using string that I supply then most customers will only see a £1 rise in the overall cost which I think is quite modest given the length of time I have maintained my prices over the years. Thank you for your understanding and I hope to see you all again soon now that (almost) normal stringing services have resumed.
